Join us for this moderate hike to Castle Rock/Elbert Creek, not long but steep....we will go slow. This is an intermediate hike that is 4 1/2 miles round trip with a 1646 ft of elevation gain. About 2/3 of the way up is a Forest Service cabin which could be a turnaround point. It is best to start early. Time frame is about 3 hours to do the whole thing, not counting time spent at the top to eat a snack. The views at the top are spectacular. Please wear appropriate hiking shoes, bring a day pack with water, rain gear, and snacks. We will meet in the parking lot at PJ's and carpool, if possible, or caravan to the Needles Store where the trail begins.
